Fondue Goodness

Having a sibling on a mission was great on many levels. Obviously, there's the spiritual enrichment that comes to them as well as to so many of people that they come in contact with. Also, there's the frequent snail-mail (there's not much greater than the discovery of a bit of happy mail in one's mailbox).. plus missionaries make for a really great place to send some of the extra cookies that occasionally happen at my house (so that I don't eat them all my very own self).

Now that he's back, there are still plenty of things that are great: he's much easier to get a hold of, plus he has all sorts of stories and crazy pictures from the last two years.

Somewhere in all of that, we got to talking about meals and this one time I mentioned that I was going to feed the missionaries spaghetti. He was appalled, "Don't feed them pasta!!" he said, "EVERYBODY feeds them pasta!!"

We have our local missionaries over for dinner fairly frequently and -even before my brother'd ever said anything- I generally tried out my newest and more unusual recipe discoveries on them (if it's a total flop, there's not as many leftovers to worry about). However, since that conversation, I do put a little extra effort into thinking up things that people might not normally serve when I'm deciding what's for dinner. So, this last time we had them over, we broke out the fondue pot.
Sweeeeeeeeeeeeet.

We decided that -while chocolate fondue is amazing- for dinner, cheese would probably be best.

It was our first time using this particular new toy, so I was pretty excited! We had a little trouble keeping the chord attached (who decided a 1.5ft cord attached by a magnet was a good idea??), but we worked it out :)
I must admit, I do feel the slightest bit guilty for habitually making the missionaries my guinea pigs, and I frequently joke about that very thing with them while we're eating dinner. Of course they're too polite to ever say anything if they don't like it, but this past time, one missionary said, "No worries, you can't go wrong with fondue!"

It must've been pretty satisfactory, they were too full to have much dessert!

That picture of his foot reminds me of a similar picture I have of my knee from sometime on my mission.

But you didn't say how the missionaries liked it. How did it go over with everyone? Were they full enough? Did they enjoy it? Don't leave me hanging!! :)

Thanks for the reminder Chilly Beans! I forgot there was a little more I wanted to tag onto the end of this post.

I've gone and edited it, hopefully that gives you a little better sense of resolution! :)
