We live close enough to the school so that we get to walk (hooray for sleeping in a little bit longer). Originally, not riding the bus kind of bummed out Townshend; so many books about going to school talk about riding a bus and it sort of set his expectations. However, he didn't seem too bothered by it in the end. The first week was a short one so, for those couple of days, the whole family went for morning drop off. After that, Townshend will walk over with Hubby - they get a little extra time to bond and I get a little calmer morning.. win-win!
At morning drop off, Townshend and his class say goodbye and head in, leaving us parents outside on the playground. In the crowd of first-day-kindergarten-parents there were some sad folks (of all ages), but in our little group we did pretty well considering it was all our first time for drop off. Although, Moon was a little upset when he couldn't go in with Townshend too. Still, by the end of the day, all seemed forgiven.

The first day seemed to go well... Hopefully the rest of the year follows suit!

Fun times! It was always amusing to me how differently each of our kids handled their first trip to school. But MomM looks like he'll be fine. I love the shark water bottle.
