Take this week, for example. We had to grocery shop, make a Target run (and we're still limited by afternoon naptime), and we had plans to visit the zoo and the children's museum, plus the boys *really* needed haircuts - a full week in its own right. But then a weekend visit to the ER for a couple stitches for Moon added a couple mid-week follow-up doctor visits. (Not to worry, he's bounced back splendidly)
And then, on a hot day, some friends invited us over to splash in their sweet, sweet backyard wading pool. How can you say no to that?? So we fit that in.
Another day, after dragging the boys around on a bunch of errands, we attempted to visit the local children's museum quick before lunch. But when we got there, we found it wasn't open that day (fail to plan, plan to fail, right?)...There were a few tears but, happily, we regrouped and enjoyed some time at the conservatory instead.
And so you juggle all the necessary bits with the fun bits and, somehow or other, things work out. I often hear people talking about being "so ready" for the summer to end, but as for me and my house, I'm feeling like I could use another week or two to squeeze it all in! And while this last push has been a little hectic, this is a very good problem to have...

| We even got a quick visit to the park between the doctor visit and haircuts |
So, amid all the hullabaloo, we managed to still get in our zoo visit this week, as planned. I call that success.
Here we are, nearly to the end... less than a week and our summer is over. Up for next week: the dinosaur museum, craft morning and a kindergarten check-up and then school starts Wednesday!
Wheeeeeeee!!!
