It's been almost 5 years since I graduated from college and almost as long since I've sung at any serious sort of level or event. However, since our lessons have been going very well and I've been feeling good about the condition of my voice, I decided that I'd be brave and take advantage of this opportunity and signed up for the recital.
After weeks of preparing, the big day finally came. I confess, I was more than a little nervous just 'cuz it's been SO LONG since I've performed! But, despite my nerves and worries, it was pretty darn good (if I do say so myself).
Good enough that I thought I'd show off the video. Check it out!

I'm SO impressed. Wanna come sing my kids lullabys? :)
Yay you! That's very listenable, even in Italian (Is it Italian? I'm so uncultured sometimes!) and done on a camera's recorder.
Whee!! Thanks all!
Yep Rits, it was Italian :)
Wow! Just like old times! You can still hit the high notes - sonds great!
Thanks!! I was especially pleased that I mastered the third song (Quando m'en vo).. that was one that I had just barely started working on when I stopped taking lessons in college, but never really learned all the way. I was glad I could still do it justice and finish with a flourish :)
That is beautiful Kate!! Thanks for posting it!! I wish that I could have been there to hear it in person. Next time!!! Do you have any news yet?
Nope.. no news, but the call-backs are for Thursday (tonight).. I didn't get a call-back, but then again, they were clear to state that not getting a call-back doesn't necessarily mean you didn't get a part. So, I'm still waiting......
