How I Accidentally Made Delicious Mousse

So, this warmer weather, coupled with these awesome monster popsicle molds I've been iching to use, plus this yummy-looking picture that's been floating around Facebook, all combined to motivate me to play in my kitchen this past weekend.

That picture isn't exactly a recipe, but it seemed clear enough that I went ahead and gathered my ingredients around my food processor and set to work.  I scooped out the Nutella and measured out some milk.. while in the fridge, I noticed some leftover Cool Whip. Figuring that the Cool Whip needed to be used up and could only add to the goodness I was concocting, I threw it in the mix, mixed it all together and poured it into the awesome monster molds and tossed them into the freezer overnight.

It was with great anticipation that, the next day, I reached in and grabbed me a monster. It didn't take me very long to discover that Cool Whip is probably not the best ingredient to add when making popsicles; they don't actually set.  However, it does add a delightful element of creaminess to the texture. So, really, rather than fudgesicles, it was really more like Nutella mousse. Either way, it was deeeeelightful!

A happy accident - they look yummy! But I think you spoke too soon about it being warmer. That was just a fluke that only lasted a couple of days.
