So we got some snow around here the other day. Chicago does a pretty impressive job of keeping up with the snow on the main roads and especially downtown, but it takes a little while for the side streets to get cleaned up... (Boy, am I glad we moved Gus off the street; this way we only had to dig ourselves out once!)
And the alleys take even longer..

By Saturday, three days after the initial storm, we were done waiting and the shovels came out. Happily, our neighbors are very helpful, so we there were several shovels being put to use in clearing out our section of the alley.
Luckily for us all, the sun was shining and it was nearly 30F, which made the task much more palatable.
