Questing for Lunches

Most days, I bring my lunch to work. However, I'm not so much a fan of eating the same things over and over and over again (especially not two meals in a row). So, this means I'm perpetually in search of new, transportable, tasty, and (mostly) healthy foods that I can have for lunch.

In one of my searches, some months ago, I came across this site that had an idea I'd never before considered: Peanut Butter Sushi.

I was exceptionally tickled by the idea! It blends some of the best foods (peanut butter and fruits) in a new and entertaining, not to mention aesthetically pleasing, way. I immediately shared it with my sister 'cuz I knew she'd get a kick out of it too. And she did.

However, it wasn't until just last weekend, up at my parents' house, that I actually tried it out for myself. We made a bunch so everybody could try some..

I smashed 'em..

Rits sliced 'em..

our final product

Definitely yummy; they disappeared quickly! Now, to figure out how to easily transport them....

Mmmmm... yummy. I should make some more of those. Couldn't you just put them in a flat-bottomed tupperware of some sort and take 'em with you? If I recall, it's the jelly that always makes a pbj a bit iffy by lunch, right? Since these don't have that, I'd think they'd transport ok.

True and true.. the jelly does change things while waiting around for lunch to happen. Though, the banana might get pretty brown by lunch too.. Still. Yum!

Strawberry is also good. Or you could take a banana, but wrap it separately, though that might get to being a lot of work.
