'Tis now the very witching time of night..

It's funny how, even though I've been planning and preparing for Halloween (and the associated festivities) since September, it still managed to sneak up on me!

By early October, my Hubby and I had decided what we were going to be. I'd even spent a good deal of brain power trying to figure out how to make it all come about. Until a couple weeks ago, my evenings were fully occupied with my show. Still, I had managed to squeeze in a little work on costumes and things, but not a ton. But once the show was over, I switched my Halloween preparations into high gear!

My costume idea was pretty simple, just a Farmer: straw hat, bib-overalls, ya know.. simple but cute! Done and done. But my Hubby's idea was a lot more elaborate; he dressed up as a Dead Astronaut. (what's an astronaut without his helmet? -Dead. Haha!) Awesome. However, it turned out to be a little harder to actually make work in real life than I had imagined; it took me a little while to find all the necessary pieces to make this costume as great as I had dreamed up in my head. Happily, eventually, I found all the stuff I needed and we were in business.

We were rocketing along, but still, things had really come down to the wire; we had a party to go to on Friday and, that very evening, I was still putting the finishing touches on the Dead Astronaut Suit!
But happily, I got it all complete and we were off.

And we had a great time! There were all sorts of very creative costumes:

And while "Richard Simmons" won first place for "Creepiest Costume", the Dead Astronaut won second :)
