The Taste!

This year, due to budget cutbacks, the Taste was really short and had fewer restaurants present. However, my Hubby and I were able to go a couple times and enjoy ourselves all the same!
trying Celtic corn (they gave me an extra one "on the house".. I say it was for the little one)

he found crab cakes!

The second time 'round, we even had some visitors come with us:
we'll never get any food! that line's too long!!

we got pretty rained on, but the food's still good!

trying some African plantains and goat..

Yum!

What'd You do for Labor Day?

As for me, and my house.. we were very busy! I had a good friend in town which was great fun. We had a good mix of things planned - just enough to keep us busy but still have plenty of relaxation time.

We got to eat at Snarf's!

But got rained out of the awesome kayak tour: Ghosts and Gangsters of Chicago

So, instead, we went Cosmic Bowling!

Then, on Monday, we went to Navy Pier

and went on a lunch cruise with Singing Servers, a buffet and a DJ

It was windy

It was great fun! I hope you enjoyed your weekend as well.

Visitors!

So, apparently all my whining actually proved fruitful; the other day The Nephew and his parents stopped by on their way through town and we had lunch and played Killer Bunnies. Yay! It was great fun :)
Though, in observing the evidence of their visit, I suppose there is a slight possibility that we would get people to visit more often if we were less abusive when they came over (i swear HE started it) ..... still, The Nephew doesn't appear to have minded too terribly.

Also, while they were here, we were introduced to Trinidad.

Not so much this Trinidad....

But THESE Trinidads...
Yum!!

So, I've been saying for a long time now that I'm "not so much a fan of chocolate". (not that I hate it or anything; it's alright.. but there are lots of other things I would rather eat if given the choice) However.. I'm beginning to think that what I really mean is that I just don't like bad chocolate.
These are good chocolates.
