Our washer and dryer share a room with the furnace and water heater. Happily, the builders put the less-flashy appliances behind the door, where they're less far less obtrusive. The downside is that they share the wall I chose to paint stripes on, and with the pipes and lack of space to work around, they were pretty much just in the way. So, I opted not to take the stripes the whole length of the wall, leaving a jaggedy-edge.
Now, I could have left it as it was; it was only bothering me, after all. But oh the bother! So, I opted to put a little bit of a more intentional-looking finish on it.
First, I hung the molding (hooray for levels and knowing it's straight).
I had to cut 5.25" from a second piece of molding so that the line would go all the way from the floor to the ceiling. Then I patched and painted it all to make one cohesive line.
Voila! Much better. And now the painting in the laundry room is fully complete!

Yay! One room down! And it turned out so well!
Thanks! I may or may not occasionally open the door and peek in for no purpose other than to smile at my stripes :)
That is, quite possibly, the cutest laundry room. Ever.
Thanks :) it'll be even better once we get some shelves in there. One step at a time!
