Holiday Family Time

Perhaps it's in my blood, or the way I was raised.. but, whatever it is, I'm a big picture taker. At pretty much any event, it's not uncommon to find me behind my camera snapping away. These pictures often end up on my screen-saver slide-show, blog and/or (eventually) in a scrapbook.

Recently, in flipping through my scrapbooks and other old photos, I noticed that Thanksgiving is sort of neglected when it comes to pictures. So, this year, I figured it was time I overcome that trend.

However, not too far into the day, I decided that Thanksgiving is probably the least photogenic holiday there is. Seriously.. the highlight of this holiday is everybody sitting around stuffing face. Fun, yes. Photogenic, not so much.
my single Thanksgiving Day picture

Nevertheless, there are other traditions that are plenty picture worthy. There's the focus on being thankful (like what i talked out in the previous post) and at my hubby's parents' place, where our Thanksgiving was this year, there are several "Thanksgiving chores" he always helps them with:

bringing up water from the basement

bringing up the storm-door from the basement

taking off the screen-door

putting up the storm-door
Last, but not least, time for some FOOTBALL!

Hurray for scrapbooking! We call it scrapbooking, but it's really photo-journaling, and a legitimate way of doing your personal history. You grandchildren and great-grandchildren will thank you for it. :D

I should do some more. It's been a while. And yes, Thanksgiving is a WAY under photographed holiday. You did better than I did.

Bah, you had sick folks. That adds extra complications to taking pictures.
Hehe... though I do like "photo-journaling".. And you're right, our posterity will enjoy them :)
