One Last Snow (hopefully)

Around Easter, my folks in Wisconsin got about 10inches of snow. Chicago isn't *really* close, but we often share storm systems and I was relieved when their snowy storm only gave us a couple inches of rain.

However, the universe seemed to find my relief funny and, a week later, sent us some snow of our own.

We woke up to this view:

I admit to being less than ecstatic to see all that snow. Stereotypically, kids are always excited  to see snow but, that morning, Townshend grouched about going to school; even refused snow-pants and only put on boots after much resistance.

However, snow or no snow, there were everyday things to be done. So, while Townshend was in school, Moon and I ran our errands. While out and about, we came upon a snowy playground, and Moon couldn't resist.

Turns out, it was excellent packing snow, so I just had to build a snowman:

Happily, spring in Chicago is always fickle.. we got a couple of inches in the morning but, by the afternoon, it was pretty much all melted away:

I wasn't sorry to see the snow go; I'm more than ready for spring to properly begin.

Its so happy this time of year when the snow melts off so fast! We're supposed to get another 4-5 inches of snow in the next day or two. Blah. Happy spring!
