Perhaps, for those with larger families or those with older kids, this is just a given, however, I've got just these two and they're still small with personalities that, in many ways, are still filling out; but whatever way you slice it, I greatly enjoy discovering the differences in my kids' personalities.
I'm a pretty crafty and creative person, so I do projects at home with the boys from time to time. Historically, it's seemed that the set-up for the project takes longer than the actual event. However, this last time, things went a little differently.
We were doing a project for Papa Phil's birthday celebration that's coming up, and once that was done both boys were interested in doing more painting. But, as is usual, their styles were drastically different:
For Townshend, he's always very careful; doesn't like getting anything on his hands, and he's generally finished pretty quickly. Now, for Moon, painting is a full-body experience. He doesn't have the same sort of issues with getting things on his hands, and he kept at the painting for 20+ mins.
The end results were also quite different. Of course, neither is "better" or "worse", but I always enjoy these small moments when parts of their individual personalities are highlighted and contrasted so vividly; they are individuals, no doubt.
