Wherever I've ever lived, it's seemed that there's one room in the house that's always the last to get some decorating love. It's the room you secretly sort of hate, but haven't gotten around to doing much about... yeah, in my house right now, that room would be my work space. It's on the lowest level of the house and I don't spend a lot of time thinking about it. I've managed to make it functional in the last six months, but beautiful? Not so much. Honestly, it's barely even organized. So, this being the New Year and all that, I decided to make some changes.
One day there WILL be a work table in there, and that will help greatly with organization and, by extension, the aesthetics as well. But, in the meantime I've been making some improvements with using the wall space around my desk.
Before:
Functional, yes. But lovely it is not.
So, I added a few minor touches and I think it connects the space a little better:
Back, before the move, I had some drying lines and I've missed them greatly so I'm very excited to have them again. Also, that little crate-shelf is perfect for adding more color and personalization into my space.
This room is definitely a work in progress. I have grand plans to do a gallery-wall of artwork and photographs above the lines, maybe paint the walls something a little more cheery.. curtains too, perhaps? But that'll all be a while in coming. Still, it feels great to have a little more order in my work space!
Happy New Year!

So tell me about your drying lines. What do you dry on them? Stuff from your etsy shop?
Yep! The drying lines are for the painted onesies. The lines are a very convenient and up-out-of-the-way spot for the shirts to dry, freeing up my work space for other projects.
