Making Time for Hot Chocolate

In these last few months, I've found that motherhood is many things. Most of it is good, but it is, on the whole, rather all-consuming. But recently, I got some advice that seemed pretty sound: That I should remember that, in all the energy and adventure of taking care of a baby, if I let my own reserves dwindle down and become empty, there's nothing to draw from and nothing to give. So this week, to charge my batteries, I decided to do something fun.

There's this little cafe near our house that has all sorts of tasty treats that are extra wonderful when paired with their freshly brewed hot chocolate. So, Saturday evening, I decided to take a walk and enjoy a cup (there may or may not have been an almond croissant involved as well). It was a lovely break and I came back feeling a little more recharged.

Happily, I have a most wonderful Hubby who, even if it means that Townshend screams at him for more than half the time I'm away, is supportive and encourages me to make time for hot chocolate.
