Attempt #1

Ok, so previously I confessed to not being much of a girly girl. This includes, but is not limited to, a general lack of prowess with styling hair. Pretty much my entire life people have told me how lucky I am to have red and naturally curly hair and laud my willingness to let it just be its natural self. To that, the sarcastic little voice that plays the running dialog in my head always wants to retort: Super! Too bad I'm so inept at styling the stuff. (happily, I've never actually said that out loud)

But the fact remains that I don't know how to french braid, I'm unable to straighten my own hair and I'm really not very skilled with a curling iron. So, it's always quite the adventure when I attempt to do something fancy with my hair.

My most recent attempt has been with curlers. (of course, this is yet another crazy manifestation of girly girl-ness brought on by and in preparation for my upcoming nuptials)

The goal:
See, so pretty.

So, I've only played with curlers once before, my very own self, and that was quite the fiasco. (no, there are no pictures to prove that yes I can and indeed did have a very large, very poofy white-girl-fro) This time, I determined to do a better job. So, I read a few instructive sites about how to put curlers in one's hair. Here are the results:

Step One: Put Curlers in Hair
Check

Step Two: After they're dry, remove curlers from hair. DO NOT COMB.
Check

Step Three: Style as desired

Verdict: Not too shabby. However, I have decided that I need a little bit more specialized goop to put in my hair to keep the curls all fancy and not to devolve into the normal ringlets that just come out of my head naturally. Maybe even some hairspray too. Hmmmm...

All in all, not too bad for a first attempt :)

There are no pictures of your previous attempt? Don't be so sure!

It look really nice. I have to admit that it amuses me how much of a girly-girl you have become. Your 16 year old self wouldn't believe it!! :)
