Memorial Day

Inasmuch as I complain about and rag upon Wisconsin, I do like that I know people who live up there who let me come to visit from time to time.
Growing up in rural Wisconsin, surrounded by summer homes for those wealthy vacationers from busier places and larger cities, I used to wonder what the draw was. I mean, you're surrounded by quiet.. and trees.. and .. quiet. All day. Boring! However, now that I am fully immersed in the crazy pace of city life, I have come to see rural Wisconsin in a slightly different light; it is nice to escape (occasionally) to the very quiet I used to dislike so much.

So, for Memorial Day, I did just that - Escaped. I even brought along a dear friend. And it was just that - Quiet.
We had a most wonderful time :)

Enjoying a quiet afternoon, just chillin'

Wrote a long roll-letter to the missionary brother

Wouldn't be vacation without Killer Bunnies!!

And lots of picture taking :)

There was an impressive display of weather though. Lots of thunder, lightning and heavy rain, and even some hail. Poor Maggie got a beating, but she came though ok :) (that's her behind the van)
