My husband is a clean-shaven kind of guy. I like that a lot about him, but I must admit that I have long held some fascination for facial hair. Perhaps it's due to my being a girl, but it's always seemed a little strange to me that hair should grow out of one's face.
So one day, as my hubby and I were chatting, I commented that I'd never seen him really unshaven. Ok, I'd seen his drivers license from when he was 21 (long before I knew him) but a goatee is very different from unshaven. So, because he's so very sweet and despite the itchiness, scraggly-ness and uncharacteristic resemblance to a lumberjack he knew would accompany that period of time, he agreed to an experiment to see what he would look like if he didn't shave for an entire week. The timing worked out so that he finished out 2008 with a face full of hair and started, fresh face forward, on New Years Day.
