Happy Halloween!!

This year was a little more low key than some years. We didn't end up having a big party with friends or anything major, but it was a full day; there were still festivities and, of course, costumes!

First, we sent Hubby off to work decked out as Pumpkin Pi.

Next, Townshend got to come home from school for lunch and a quick change into his costume, then back to school he went!

A gumball machine!

The school had a Halloween parade with all the kids, all grades. They walked around a little ways, just a couple blocks near the school. Moon and I went to go watch! I brought bubbles to entertain the little guy while we waited for the kids to come by. I thought I was so clever!

Then, he spilled a bunch on the little chair he was sitting on...

Still, he wanted to stay and finish watching the parade, and it was worth it - chilly bum and all.

Once it was all done, I had thought to spend the little bit of time between the parade and the end of the school day to run some quick errands, and we made it.. but first a quick trip home for some fresh pants.

All the fun for Halloween meant that Moon had to miss his afternoon nap, but we pressed on. Hubby came home from work a little early, and we all got ready to go Trick-or-Treating. Townshend was rearing to go, but Moon wanted nothing to do with his costume. Still, we managed to snap a quick family picture between meltdowns.

Happily, the prospect of a walk (sans costume) perked up the little guy and we all made it around the neighborhood. The boys got a good haul and the evening ended quite well, all things considered.

As a side note, I've been a little bummed about the trees' colors this autumn. I saw a color map that predicted the peak this autumn would be in mid-October, but it was pretty bland at that time.

Turns out, they were wrong... I'd say the peek is now! The last few days the trees have been gorgeous!

Autumn is my favorite!
