Painting!

There's this weird empty wall space over my piano.

It's sort of almost a triangle, and (outside of holidays) it's always been empty but I've never been sure how to fill it. But, recently I found some inspiration. What I needed was a tranquil sort of abstract painting; a rectangular one with a vertical orientation. I envisioned something mixing blues and white with a dash of gold.

So, I got a canvas and some paints and set to work.

First, some light swaths of blue.

A bit of gold, for contrast.

And of course, layers and layers and texture until, voila!

A little bit of shimmer and a lot of texture. I'm in love!

Though, it still feels like something is missing... maybe something round might work? Hmmm...

Next, I may have to try my hand at putting some word art in an embroidery hoop... though, paint is more likely than embroidery...still, we'll see. But, for now, I'm loving how my painting turned out!
