Bathroom Makeover

With the baby coming in the new year, I've been going to town finishing projects around the house that have been bugging me. My latest undertaking was to give our little bathroom a makeover.

This room had a few obnoxious builder-grade idiosyncrasies, they weren't awful but since I was going to be painting anyway I thought I'd fix a few. First up, replacing the towel rack (and hanging it a few inches higher and a couple inches to the left).

When we moved in, we'd gotten a brightly colored fish shower curtain. Using the colors from the curtain as inspiration, I branched out from there. So, I went bright with the new towel rack.

We use a hooded towel for Townshend, so when we first moved in I added that yellow hook and the bar mostly went unused.

Also, the counter top is rather teeny so, to create some additional storage options, I put up this shelf:

And, for giggles, I put up some friendly-reminder artwork:

Then, I painted the walls a chipper yellow to tie it all together. So, to sum it up here's a shot of the room as it was, and as it is now.

Altogether, not huge changes, but a bit of a face lift to give it some flavor. Hooray for color!
