Geekiest Geekery

I'm an admitted nerd. I like lots of nerdy things: Musicals, Sci-fi, Fantasy, Invader Zim and any number of other things that may or may not be considered nerdy, but nothing has made me geek out like I geeked out for LOST.

It took me a while to decide it was worth watching, but once I got a taste I inhaled everything to catch up to the network's airing of the 3rd season and then watched it on my couch, ON TV (rather than on hulu the day after it aired), nearly every week until the end of the 6th, and final, season.

So it wasn't really surprising that, while on our honeymoon in Disney World, when I saw a display for LOST in the ABC cafe, I jumped up and made my Hubby take my picture (wedding ears and all) in front of the Dharma jumpsuits.

That was in 2009. Then, sometime in the summer of 2010, I was reading Jorge Garcia's blog (yes. and I read it still 'cuz he's just that funny) and he commented that he was updating the address that people could send stuff to for him to autograph.

That got me thinking... would I really send something to him just for him to write his name on it? What would I even send? What would I do with that something if I did send something??
Then, I remembered that picture from the ABC cafe.

It took a little while for the picture to come back but, in the spring of 2011, it arrived in the mail. Yay! For several months it hung on our fridge, waiting for the perfect frame to call home. I looked on Etsy and around the internet for a frame that was tastefully LOST themed, but nothing was quite what I had in mind. Finally, in the last month or so, I decided it was project time! I found a wooden frame, just the right size, wrapped it in crumpled papers to give it color and texture and added some extra decorations (that were tastefully LOST themed), and voila! the perfect home for that nerdy picture. And perhaps the Geekiest Geekery I have created yet... maybe.
the writing says: "Jumpsuits + Ears = Fashion Heaven; Jorge Garcia"

Still.. it's totally awesome!!
