Summer in Chicago - there's no telling what the weather will be. Last year I felt like it never really got warm; we were wearing our heavy jackets into May! So, as summer was approaching this year, I found myself wishing that we could have a "normal" Chicago summer. And, boy, have we ever!
We've had hot and humid days. We've had windstorms and tornadoes. And rain.. have we had rain. I feel like it's been forever since we had a sunny weekend.
All the same, Taste of Chicago will not be postponed, and my Hubby and I have a tradition to maintain!
Coming into the weekend, when I checked on Friday, the weather forecast called for thunderstorms all day Saturday. I was really bummed.. I was really tired of getting rained on and I'd really had my hopes pinned on going this Saturday, plus, we'd planned to have the missionaries join us for dinner. (And nothing I might've cooked would be as cool as whatever weird thing we'd eat at the Taste.)
However, fortune smiled upon us and Saturday morning the skies were clear! It was a beautiful day. We met up with the missionaries and we all had a blast.
