BLOGIVERSARY

So, on January 5th, I will have been doing the blog-thing for a whole year. Yikes! Crazy how much has happened in the last year and still things can feel like they happened not that long ago. My first blog post was a little rough.. hehe... but I've figured a few things out since then and hopefully it's looking better these days.

Anyway, so there's this one blog that I am guilty of lurking on .. she posts interesting things in entertaining ways and it's intelligently written and so I go back from time to time to see what is new. It is from this blog that I am shamelessly stealing the idea of celebrating my Blogiversary by having a cookie give-away.

I have been told that my Snickerdoodles are pretty good; "cookie crack" even. So, since I am a fan of spreading the joy that is Snickerdoodles and to celebrate a whole year of silly posts of silliness, I am going to give away one baker's dozen (13) of my Snickerdoodles to one lucky person. All you have to do is comment on this post and you will be entered into the drawing to win this great prize! (one entry per person) I will ship them anywhere in the United States. And, having a brother on a mission, I have experience in shipping baked goods (shhhh... don't tell the post office folks) so they will get to you and still be soft and oh so tasty.

The cutoff is going to be Monday, January 5th at 11:59pm. Get your comment in before then!!

Hey Kate! Congratulations on getting married this year. I hope all is well, and that you are happy. So, I am something of a cookie expert, and everyone loves my sugar cookie. Not that it will help for you to know, but snickerdoodles are one of my favorite cookies! ttfn.

OOoh, this is like the old contest you used to run on your cell phone, back when you were in college. Remember? "Thank you for entering the catch **** contest. We're sorry this call is not a winner. If you would like to enter for the consolation prize drawing please leave a message." I've had those yummy snickerdoddles of yours before. Count me in!

Haha! That's funny that you remember that :) Yes, it is kind of like that, only, cookies are an ever so much better consolation prize

If you give them to me you won't have to mail them. You can even just bring them by--you know where I live.

Maybe even a game of Killer Bunnies will break out, you never know.

Another thought, do multiple comments get you multiple entries for cookie selection?

And if I don't get the cookies, can I get the recipe as a consolation prize?

So Kate, how are you going to determine the winner in your contest? Are you going to going to put our names in a hat and draw the lucky winner? So, if, by chance my entry in your contest proves to be the lucky winner, you could send the cookies to Josh and sent my love with them since I never send cookies myself!! :) :)

Zac, while a game of killer bunnies is definitely tempting to weigh the selection and comments are ALWAYS welcome, i think i'm going to have to limit it to one entry per person. Though, you can have the recipe as a consolation if you're not selected to win :)

Mom, I probably will do the names in a hat thing (unless i can find a number randomizer online) I'll for sure send them to my missionary brother if your name is picked :)

Kate! Obviously you need to give those cookies to me. I'm five feet away from you 5 days out of the week so you won't have to ship them and I'll totally share with Clarissa, Des and the rest of cookie crack craving creatures around the office. Your snickerdoodles are probably the best snickerdoodles I've ever tasted. They are just the perfect amount of cinnamon and light as clouds! MMMMM!

Despite being a recipe owner and frequent baker of Kate's Snickerdoodles (approx. 483 baked in NC last year), I am proud to submit my application to receive a special delivery from The Baker herself. Just rest well tonight knowing that regardless of the outcome, your Snickerdoodling operations in the Southeastern United States are going strong! :)

P.S. - I have a number randomizer website that you are invited to use if interested. The fact that I always end up winning is purely coincidental... ;)

Sarika - such kind flattery! I'm blushing :)

Jasher - I am honored to hear that the snickerdoodle production continues on out there on the east coast :) Yay!
Hmm... I dunno.. your offer for lending me a number randomizer sounds a little sketchy to me ;)

I can't help myself - I have to put in an entry too!

I promise that my randomizer involves no sketching whatsoever and am grateful that you obviously concur, as you utilized it effectively in your contest... ;)

MAN! You miss just ONE post and it happens to be a contest post. That's stinky. I can see that if I want your cookie crack I'll have to make my own. On, and I posted your recipe a while back, if ya wanna link. Though it is in the middle of a post about a lot of relatively random things.

Rits - Haha.. I had forgotten the arduous process of how I'd chosen THIS particular Snickerdoodle recipe :) Thanks for the link to your post!
