Upgrades

For the last year and a half I lived in a studio apartment. It was wonderful; my own little space in this bustling city. After having had sublet after sublet and roommate after roommate (all wonderful and good but still very temporary and not ever quite completely home) I found great joy in the independence of not having to worry about any roommates' sleeping habits or schedules. I felt free to decorate to my heart's content and I fully enjoyed the process of making that cozy little apartment mine. And the building's construct was even such that I could play my piano pretty much any time of the day that I wanted and not worry too much about incurring the wrath of the neighbors. It certainly wasn't perfect, but it was mine and it was good to me.

November has brought many changes in my life, some more drastic than others :) But in my living situation, there have been some significantly noticeable upgrades:

Then >> Now

(notice the ruler; it gives perspective)

And a few, all-new acquisitions:
(dishwasher)

(garbage disposal)

(in-house washer and dryer)

Oh baby oh baby :)

Now I know why you married him! Geez! Twenty minutes closer to work AND a great upgrade. I'm curious to see the bathroom. Some natural light, perhaps?

Hehe.. yep! We are living in a material world and I am the very model of a material girl :)

Oh yes, there are so many windows (even one in the bathroom) So much natural light! There's even a sky light. I occasionally contemplate getting some plants.... though, I'm afraid I'd kill 'em.

Ahh. That's a nice upgrade from your previous life. I especially like the clean clean kitchen. The better to make snicker doodles in.

No wait, I mean I like the laundry facilities best.

BTW Ashley and I used to have that same computer desk. It was really weird for me to see because I totally recognized it, but...ahem...didn't remember from where.

Remember...I posted this before Ashley did.

Congrats!

SWEET! ALL the sweet, sweet upgrades (that desk, by the way, is a miniature version of the desk I WORSHIPED having in New Jersey and is the exact one that was in my little studio sublet that became our honeymoon sweet last summer), the sweet, sweet new acquisitions, the sweet, sweet and superbly better commute AND you get a sweet, sweet, SWEET husband out of all of it?!

You are living the life, Mrs. Kate. Living. The. Life.
